The beginning of et maintenant ?

And now? (et maintenant ?) Barely 18 months after lockdown, that’s the main question that came to the mind of the two major public audiovisual players in the « world » of ideas, ARTE and France Culture. What now for medicine and science? Debate and democracy? Education and learning? Family, love, and friendships? Globalization and international relations? What economic future and what kind of society are we facing now? And how are we interconnected?

The first two editions feature comprehensive surveys covering a range of topics: education, work, democracy, international relations, intimacy, and science. These surveys were developed in collaboration with Monique Dagnaud, Director of Research at CNRS and a sociologist specializing in youth studies, who also supervised the reports.

et maintenant ? settles in and goes global

The responses were instrumental in shaping the programming of the first two editions of the et maintenant? festival, held in November 2021 and October 2022 at Radio France’s Maison de la Radio, alongside an online platform that welcomed international guests and audiences.

The questionnaire is also accessible in German on undjetzt-festival.de, and the festival was also hosted in Germany as part of the Frankfurt Book Fair.

et maintenant ? we change everything!

In 2023, et maintenant? questionnaires have undergone restructuring in terms of format and frequency. They are now released throughout the year. To accommodate this new format, the website has been redesigned with additional features, such as an open question box and updated front-page results.

Participants who wish to stay informed can opt to receive notifications when a new questionnaire is published or when an incomplete questionnaire is resumed.

The results pages have been revamped to showcase the breadth of topics covered and the significant findings. The homepage now prominently features updates about the festival and the questionnaires. The editorial team is supported by the Fondation Jean Jaurès in analyzing the results.

what about the festival?

Since October 2023, the festival has found its venue at the Gaîté Lyrique, where it also hosts debates related to the questionnaires held throughout the year.
