Disclose and Upian go back a long way.

We met the two founders Geoffrey Livolsi and Mathias Destal in 2018. Their project was singular. To create both an NGO dedicated to the right to information and a non-profit investigative media.

A few months later, we accompanied them on the publication of their first “Made in France” investigation, which revealed the involvement of French weapons against civilians in Yemen.

After that, we put the website and other landmark investigations online. These include “Le revers de la médaille” (The other side of the coin), about the omerta in sport in the face of the pedophilia scandal; “L’ogre du lait” (The milk ogre), which reveals the extent of the abuses involving the multinational Lactalis; and “Les mémos de la terreur” (Egypt papers), about the complicity of the French state in the crimes of the Egyptian dictatorship.

With this new site, Disclose now organizes its investigations into eight themes that reflect its editorial line and priorities: defence secrets, human rights, financial crime, environmental crime, the climate crisis, public health, food safety and sexual violence.

With the number of publications constantly on the rise, the home page has evolved to offer more content, including video investigations. A space has also been created to present how Disclose works. Its battles, its impact, its financing and its ethical charter.

Without revolutionizing the graphic charter, we took the opportunity to make several improvements. These include a new typographic combination to improve the legibility of articles, and more possibilities for staging visuals.

Not to mention a whole range of technical evolutions to improve site loading and fluidity. We wish this new version a long life, and look forward to continuing our adventure with the Disclose team.
